Amanda Casteel Torbett of Woodstock, GA was born October 18, 1988, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at the age of 31.
She was preceded in death by her beloved paternal Grandmother Frances Torbett. She is survived by her parents Rick and Cindy Torbett, sister Melissa (Joey) Collier, Grandfather Reece Torbett, Grandparents Mack and Shirley Ferguson, and multiple, loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and her cat Molly, who all adored her.
Amanda graduated high school from Richards Christian Academy and cum laude from Reinhardt University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was also a licensed cosmetologist. She was employed at Manheim Auto Sales Group and was a hostess at Bay Breeze restaurant.
Amanda was dearly loved from the time she was born. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized by her father and grandfather. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, joyful spirit, and a contagious laugh. She was selfless- always putting others first and she was sensitive to their needs. She was well known for her kind soul.
She had a love for water sports with her cousins and shared years of memories with her parents and sister at Six Flags and White Water. She shared a love for comedy and light-hearted cartoons and movies with her family. She was honest in her expression of opinion as to weather a movie was well done or “lame”. She loved her family, friends, and pets and made spending time with them a priority in her life.
The wonderful, happy memories are too numerous to list but we will cherish them forever.
We firmly believe in Romans 8:38-39 that states “For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor death, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
A visitation will take place Thursday November 21, 2019 from 12:00 noon till 2:00pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm. She will then be laid to rest in a family plot outside Birmingham.
Canton Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Amanda Torbett.
