Billy Jack Duncan, age 82 of Canton, GA passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 unexpectedly at his home. He was not only a loving husband and father, but was also known as PawPaw, All Paw and Popo and was a friend to many. Billy proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He then settled down in Canton where he started his career in the flooring industry and started a family with wife, Shirley. Whenever he had spare time he would spend it outside fishing, hunting or soaking up some sun on his back deck. He passed his deep love of the outdoors down to his son, Terry. Once retired, Billy developed a love of traveling the world and gardening. If the sun was out, Billy was out in his yard working. He was known on his street for having the most beautiful yard and proudly referred to this as “showing out.” He truly enjoyed being the grandfather to his four grandkids and the great-grandfather to his two great-granddaughters. His face would light up every time he saw them!!
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Troy Duncan of Canton, his loving wife Shirley and his siblings: Ellabel (West), Tommy, Chuck and Leo (DD) Duncan. Billy is survived by his daughter, Vickie Duncan Bobo of Canton; his son, Terry (Dell) Duncan of Ball Ground; his granddaughter Megan (Sam) Wolfson of Canton; grandson Jonathan Bobo of Denver, CO; his grandson Tyler Duncan of Ball Ground; his granddaughter Savanna Duncan of Ball Ground and his great granddaughters, Samantha and Leona Grace Wolfson of Canton. Billy is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Billy was always saying “don’t make me show my Duncan side” … those who know us know exactly what that means!! We will always remember his famous line: “that was then, this is now.” We are left with now.
