Dianne Asiaf

September 20, 1939 — August 6, 2024

Woodstock

Dianne Murray Asiaf died in the manner she was born: brave, blessed, and beloved. She was

the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Olga Murray of Brockton, Massachusetts. She

graduated from Brockton High School in 1957 and after attending Chandler Secretarial School,

she started her career at the Brockton School Department. She married John G. Asiaf (former

husband) in 1961 and they raised their three children in Abington, Massachusetts, and

Popponessett Beach on Cape Cod. In 1986, Dianne moved to Popponessett and worked for the

late attorney and friend, Gerarda M. Fulham. She was a parishioner at Christ the King Parish in

Mashpee, Massachusetts and St. Michael’s the Archangel of Woodstock, Georgia. Dianne

volunteered for hospice and prison ministry. Devout to St. Theresa the Little Flower, she was

honored to join the Lay Carmelite (O.Carm.) of Cape Cod and later serve as the Co-Regional

Director for Georgia and Alabama. She was an artist who loved capturing the beauty of florals

and landscapes, most especially the sea and sky. Her greatest masterpiece however was her

soul.

Those close to her understood how she loved things in threes: The Holy Trinity, her three

children, and ABC order. No matter how you addressed her, be it Mom, Sister, Mil, Auntie,

Grammy, Irish Mother, or friend, if you knew her, you were loved by her.

She leaves behind her sister, Denise Ames of Port Charlotte, Florida, her children, Adrienne

Franciosi of Newton, Massachusetts, John J. Asiaf of Westport, Massachusetts, and Denise

Hamilton and son-in-law Daniel Hamilton of Woodstock, Georgia, her grandchildren Alexandra

Franciosi, Avery Franciosi, Garrett Hamilton, Matthew Hamilton, many nieces and nephews,

and countless friends.

Visitation hours are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 12 at Canton Funeral Home in Canton,

Georgia. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Chanel, Roswell, Georgia on Tuesday,

August 13 at 10:30 a.m.

Dianne endured the difficult consequences of Alzheimer’s disease yet always remembered the

voices of family and how to smile. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Global Blessing,
