Donald Williams

We remember and celebrate the life and spirit of Donald Eugene Williams, who left us to be with God on Sunday afternoon, April 25th, 2021.  Known to all as Don, he was born on March 10, 1951 in Columbia, South Carolina to Donna and Fraser Williams, Sr.  Those fortunate to have known Don are no doubt familiar with his trademark “Howdy” greeting.  Whether over the phone or in person, one could always count on this warm and inviting start to a conversation.  However, his dependably cordial nature was just one of Don’s countless endearing qualities.  His quick-witted and relatable sense of humor brought joy to so many and offered comfort in times of uncertainty or sorrow.  His selflessness and giving nature benefited anyone in need, as evidenced by his charitable involvement with the VFW and his efforts to build an addition onto their house to accommodate his wife, Debbie’s, grandmother.  Don’s warm and welcoming spirit benefited all who crossed his path, from close family to passing acquaintances.  He was a devoted son, a dependable brother, a supportive partner, a giving father and a loyal friend.  So, while we remember and celebrate the many ways Don touched our lives and made the world a better place to be, all who knew him look forward to the day we’re once again greeted with that familiar and comforting… “Howdy.”

Don is remembered fondly and missed dearly by all, including his immediate family: his wife Debbie, his brothers Walter and Fraser, and his son Joe.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 28th at Canton
Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park.  Visitation:
11:00am – 1:30pm.  Service: 2:00pm.
