Garlon 'Steve' Hunt

Garlon Stephen Hunt, born August 17, 1942 in Decatur GA., passed away September 4, 2023 at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of his wife of 61 years, Kathryn White Hunt. He was the son of the late Margaret Bloodworth Hunt and William Garlon Hunt.

Steve graduated from Avondale High School and went on to have a successful career as a manufacturer’s representative. He worked most of his career at Hunt Sales Company that he and his brother founded in 1974. Steve enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in high school sports, attending UGA games and Braves baseball. He also enjoyed cooking, being with family and spending time at his Destin home and adoring his pet bird.

In addition to leaving behind his bride, Kathryn Hunt, Steve is also survived by his siblings: Stan Hunt (Martha), Mike Hunt (Judy) and Jackie Causey, his children: Marc Hunt (Martha) and Raleigh King (Van), his 7 grandchildren: Brittany, Brandon (Brandy), Tyler (Becca), Sara (Charles), Hunter (Freddy), Nick and Joseph, and 6 great grandchildren: Braydon, Cash, Colson, Ellie, Parker and Cadyn.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded by his brothers, Lamar Hunt and Richard Hunt.

Steve was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Please join us for A Celebration Of Life being held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park at 1:00pm.

The family will be receiving friends immediately following service at the clubhouse at Idylwilde located at 338 McDaniel Place Canton Ga 30115.
