Hajar Owaijan, age 96, passed away peacefully on Friday surrounded by her loving family.
Hajar was born in Syria to Ibrihim Owaijan and Hilanah Owaijan. She gratefully moved to America five years ago to escape the tragedies of the Syrian War. Hajar’s gift was her magic touch when it came to plants and animals. She was gifted with the ability to heal sick animals and make anything grow. She was a true woman of God and was known in her village as a prayer warrior. Hajar was a devoted believer of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Saleem Katrib.
She is survived by her children, Atta Katrib, Hannah Katrib, Hana Said, Najah Katrib, Esther Zaiback, and Muntaha Yu; her grandchildren, Sami, Halla, Nahla, Rana, Ghina, Suzie, Julie, Christina, Salem, Rani, Daniel, Rina, Natalie, Elaina, Nada, Raya, and Basma; and her great grandchildren, Monti, Michael, Renee, Gabrielle, Michelle, Sarah, Ethan, Christopher, Daniel, Joy, Summer, Dahlia, Adalyn, Pierce, Isabella, Matthew, Joshua, Daniella, Elijah, Gabriel, and Rosebell Hajar.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Canton Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
