James A. Morris, 62, of Canton, Georgia was born on March 22, 1960 in Wichita, Kansas to Joe W. and Bette Jo Morris, the 4th of 5 children.
Born into a military family, Jim’s family moved from Kansas to Slidell, Louisiana, where he attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic grade school. The family later moved to Littleton, Colorado where Jim finished grade school, middle school, and Columbine High School. He graduated from Regis University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance. Many of Jim’s lifelong friends were made in Littleton. He met the love of his life, Diana Blume in 1980 in Estes Park. They married on March 20, 1982 and had three beautiful girls, Heather, Mandy, and Nicole. They then moved to Canton, Georgia in 2001. Jim held many positions and made an abundance of wonderful friends in his 36 years at Lockheed Martin. In 2016, he retired as Vice President and Finance Director. His success in both business and marriage allowed he and his wife to travel to many tropical getaways. Jim enjoyed retirement spending his days grilling family dinners, spoiling his girls and grandchildren, woodworking, playing golf, visiting friends, traveling, driving his ’69 Camaro, spending weekends at his mountain cabin, floating in the pool, and attending many concerts. Jim had a passion for muscle cars, the Grateful Dead, and his family.
Jim was well known for his generosity and sarcastic wit. He passed away on March 28, 2022 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital while vacationing in Kauai, Hawaii for his 62nd birthday and 40th wedding anniversary.
