James Edward Stokes

James Edward Stokes 90, of Canton went home to be with his Lord on January 25, 2023.  

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the US Army. For years Jim was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Canton Ga.

He was always ready to help a friend or family member. He enjoyed fixing things, building things, and growing his garden.

Jim enjoyed a long happy marriage of 67 years with his wife Veneda. He was a loving father and always there for daughter Lorrie.

Visitation for Jim will be Saturday January 28, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 pm at Canton Funeral Home and from 1:30 until the Funeral hour of 2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church on Sunday January 29, 2023.
