Flora Jean Wood, age 84, went to be with her Lord on April 22, 2024. She was born in Towns County, Georgia to the late Carlos and Sendie Patterson Roach on March 12, 1940. She later moved to Atlanta, GA with her husband Famous Bradley and they had two sons, Danny and Doug. After the passing of her spouse, Famous, she married Benton Wood and moved to Woodstock, GA where she lived until her passing.
She worked for the Fulton County, GA school system for many years making sure the children attending school had delicious and nutritious meals provided to them on a daily basis. She was later known as the “Tomato Lady” on Wiley Bridge Road to many. She enjoyed her family and friends and meeting new people. She enjoyed visiting those she knew as often as possible.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her spouses, Famous Bradley and Benton Wood, her sons Danny Bradley and Douglas Bradley, her infant brother Emerson Roach and her sister Maxine Roach Dayton. She is survived by her brothers Charles Roach (Carolyn), Rudy Roach and her sisters Sue Satterfield, Juanita Ledford (Edwin), Judy Smith, and Brenda Brewer (Robert), several nieces and nephews and great and great great nieces and nephews.
She had many family members and friends and will be missed by all who knew her.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family on 04/24/2024 at 1:00 pm at Macedonia Memorial Park where she will rest between her sons Danny and Doug.
Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park are in charge of arrangements.
