Jerome “Jerry” Fidelis Kerr, 72, died on August 2, 2015 in Cumming, Georgia, surrounded by his wife and family. He is survived by his wife Joan Kerr; two children, Jerome Kerr Jr. and Ruth Jusinski; his brother George; 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Jerry was born on August 28, 1942 in Teaneck, New Jersey, the son of Jerome Kerr and Jean Mangan. For most of his professional life, Jerry worked in sales. For a decade Jerry left sales and ran a nursing home in Boonton, New Jersey. It was there he met his wife of 30 years, Joan. They moved to Atlanta to be married in 1985 where they subsequently made a home for much of their married life. Like his grandfather, Jerry was a lifelong lover of the arts and enjoyed painting and drawing.
Although the last 15 years of his life were characterized by progressively declining health, his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ, only grew as he observed God’s faithfulness in his life. Until his last days, Jerry continued to praise and worship the Lord through praying, listening to praise music and reading Scriptures.
A memorial will be held at the Macedonia Memorial Park Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 2:00, followed by a graveside service. A viewing will occur prior to the service from noon until 2:00.
