Jimmy Preston Adams, 87, of Douglasville, passed away on March 22,2020 in Marietta, Ga.
Jimmy was born in Buchanan, Georgia in 1932 to Clarence Eugene Adams and Ora Beatrice Summerville. He married Frances Louise Henry in 1956. They were married 64 years. He honorably served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Jimmy loved working on lawn mowers and singing. He was fondly known to all as the “Candy Man” because at every gathering he went to, he always had candy to pass out, especially to the children.
Jimmy is preceded by his Father, Clarence Eugene Adams; Mother, Ora Beatrice Summerville Adams; Brothers, Jack Adams and Perry F. Beck; and Sisters, Margaret Coleman, Faye Rowell, and Dura V. Adams; and Grandson Matthew Harris.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Frances Louise Adams; Son, Travis Eugene Adams (Michelle); Daughters, Sherry Harris (Robert) and Stacy Ingland; Grandchildren, Matthew Adams (Julianne), Mason Adams, Jennifer Harris, Tim Harris (Misty), David Harris, Brandy Spinks, Samantha Driskell (Dylan) and Alexandria White; Sisters, Sarah Smith, Levia Holcombe; Great-Grandchildren, Van Adams, Ace Adams, Cameron Harris, Chase Harris, Tate Harris, Natalie Harris, Lindsey Harris, Maddox Harris, Andrew Jones, Eden Rose Spinks, Brock Spinks, Brayden Driskell, Bentley Driskell, Walt Driskell, Kaiden Ingland, Kinsley White and other family members that deeply cared about him. He will be deeply missed by all.
