Joanne Hulsey

Mrs.  Joanne Marie Ledford Hulsey, 74, of Marietta, Ga.  passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Saturday March 11, 2017 at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery at Macedonia Memorial Park.  Interment to follow the funeral at Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday March 10, 2017 from 2:00PM-6:00PM at the funeral home.

She was born in San Francisco, CA.  Later at the age of 6, Joanne and her sister, Joyce, moved to Oak Hill Homes on Stewart Avenue, Atlanta, GA.   She graduated in 1961 from Walter F. George High School in South Atlanta, where she was nominated as the homecoming queen.

Joanne met Bill Hulsey on a blind date in 1960, where they went on a picnic to Stone Mountain.  Joanne and Bill were married on September 22, 1961.

She began working as a secretary at Anchor Pipe. Joanne later worked at an agency where she handled multiple tasks assisting an attorney.  She later went to work as a receptionist until her retirement. In her spare time, she loved listening to Celtic Thunder, planting flowers, yard work and was a loving mom and Nana to her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Hulsey is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Bill Hulsey, 2 daughters Wendy Eskew (Mark) of Ballground, GA and Ashlee Hulsey of Woodstock, GA

and her son, Stephen Hulsey (Julie) of Austell, Ga.  Also survived by four grandchildren Harrison Eskew (Sarah), Megan Nicholson (Elliott), Abbey Eskew (Kenny) and Jacob Hulsey.  She had one great grandson, Bowen Eskew.  She is also survived by two sisters, Joyce Biffle and Rosemary Woods.
