John Zygmund Hryc Sr., 77 of Canton, GA passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.
John was born in Plainfield, New Jersey to Martha and Michael Hryc (Herrick) on June 19, 1943. After graduating from Piscataway High School, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Ann Kendzulak. Their song was “Running Bear” which was playing at the train station when John first called Nancy. Their love story lasted 60 wonderful years. They celebrated 58 years of married life in March.
John was a hard worker and had a strong work ethic. At various points he held more than one job in order to support his family, which grew to include three girls and one boy. In 1972, while John was working at Rutgers Packaging as a Traffic Manager, he received a promotion which took he and his family to Indianapolis, Indiana. After nine and half years there, John and family relocated to Ontario, California when John secured a job at Treasure Chest Advertising. After six years, the family made their final move to the Atlanta, Georgia greater area where John retired from Treasure Chest/ Vertis Communication after twenty six years of employment.
Family has always been the most important thing to John. Summer family vacations were standard . They included visits to family in NJ or CA. By car or by plane, John always made sure the family had a vacation and time together.
For thirty-three years, John and Nancy made a beautiful, loving home in Canton, Georgia. In addition to being the place that family gathers, celebrates and enjoys each other, it has also been where John planted his amazing vegetable garden every year, cruised around on his John Deere mower, and fixed or repaired anything that was broken! All his life these were the things he did — and it made him who he was. He was always showing and teaching his kids and grandkids how to repair things, how to manage finances and how to care for each other. He did this not only in word and deed but also through his amazing example of being a caring, compassionate man full of wisdom and integrity and love for those who were lucky enough to be part of the family and for those who crossed his path.
John’s love and support for everyone in his family was unending. He leaves behind his wife Nancy, his four children - Rosalyn Hussey (Robert), Sharon Simpson (Andrew), Trish Mullinax (David) and John Jr. (Terry) and his eight grandchildren - Pamela and Luke Hussey; Joel and Josh Simpson; Rachel Mullinax Dingley (Royce), Richard, Rose and Michael Mullinax. He is also survived by his sister, Alberta Spyker.
We, John’s family are his legacy and are proud and honored to be called his children. Our hearts are broken but he is restored with our heavenly Father.
