Joseph (Joey) Craig Crosby, age 53, ran to the arms of Jesus Friday, December 18, 2015, from a car accident. Joey was born December 13, 1962 in Columbia, SC. Joey loved everyone and anyone that he came into contact with. Big or small, white or black, human or animal…he was a lover of life. Joey was always quick to laugh, a hard worker, and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He had several gifts, but his most beautiful gift was that of music. He crafted and played with passion and in a way that blessed his friends, family, and those that got to hear him play at Church. This Christmas, the (always loud, never quiet) sound of his electric guitar will be incredibly missed by his family.
Joey was a dedicated and caring friend, brother, uncle, and son. He is survived by his mother, Darnell Sullivan; father Lewis Crosby and wife Joyce Crosby; brother Mike Crosby and wife Renea, and their child Erika and husband, Zack Price; brother David Crosby; and step-daughter Jennifer David and husband Joe, and their children, Autumn and Josh. Joey will be missed by a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that knew him, loved him, and will spend the rest of their days missing his infectious smile, laugh, and attitude. The family wishes to thank the Walton County Sheriff’s Department for their valiant effort in contacting the family and taking care of Joey’s mother in her time of need.
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God.” Job 19:25. Our hearts burn with pain at this time, but we will take great comfort that Joey will be spending this Christmas with our Maker, the lover and designer of his heart.
The family will receive friends at 1:00pm on Monday December 21, 2015 at Macedonia Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery with a reception immediately following at 130 Dawson Creek Drive, Ball Ground, GA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Young Life Southeast Region at PO Box 7753, Marietta, GA, 30065.
