Heaven gained an angel last night. My mother, sister, and myself were by my dad last night as he as went to sleep peacefully. As many of you know, he’s been battling for a long long time and never gave up. He’s always been a fighter.
Growing up my dad coached me in baseball from the time I was in T-ball all the way until I got to high school. He always pushed me to be a best player I could be. He helped me be able to earn a college scholarship for 4 years of baseball. He was the biggest supporter of my baseball career. He went to every high school game, traveled with me to all my summer tournaments in Central California. He went to all my college games at Glendale College and then continued to watch me at Reinhardt where he would stay out here for months during the season. Baseball was LIFE in our family!!
We grew up fishing and taking the boat out on castaic lake in Los Angeles. The tradition continued when I moved to Atlanta when I bought a boat so that we could continue watching our line run when the fish hits!!
Over the past year, he moved into my house and we spent as much time as ever together. Watching sports, grilling steaks and burgers, and talking about all the cool times during my baseball career. He wanted to be at my house and not in a nursing home and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Dad would do anything for me, I mean anything. Drive me to Alabama so that we could get a cheaper flight to Europe. Watch Woods and Cherokee when I needed a break, or lend me money so I could buy flip houses, renovate houses, and buy more rentals. He was the biggest supporter of my real estate career and loved every minute of watching me grow my portfolio. He simply wanted me to succeed and never wanted anything else.
I love you Dad, I’ll miss you dearly, and pray that you are up there with my brother and woods on a golf course right now and then after go eat a big ribeye with a loaded baked potato!! Love you so much.
