Ricky Ray Lamanac, 68, died Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his home following an extended battle with cancer.
Ricky was born August 12, 1956 at the old Coker’s Hospital in Canton, Georgia. Son of the late Donald Ray and Eunice Maybell (Edwards) Lamanac. He lived his entire life in and around North Georgia in Acworth, Cartersville and Canton areas.
Ricky developed an early love for all things mechanical and acquired a reputation across North Georgia as an excellent mechanic, paint and body repair man. He worked for several dealerships and independent shops in North Georgia. He loved working with his father, Donald Lamananc and together they fully restored his father’s award winning Red 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. His restoration work culminated with his own immaculate Black 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. Ricky was incredibly proud of this automobile and kept it in perfect condition until he passed.
He is survived by; daughter, Melissa Jean Lamanac (Cantrel) and son in law, Donnie Cantrel of White, GA, Melissa’s mother, Martha Shepardson of Canton, GA, sister, Sharon Lynn Lamanac (McMillan) and brother in law, John D (Dan) McMillan of Big Canoe, GA, sister, Karen Donna Lamanac of Canton, GA and niece, Brandy Lynn Dailey of Fairmont, GA and nephew, Joshua Dailey of Cumming, GA.
Visitation for friends and family will be held Friday, November 3rd between 10:00 AM & 12:45 PM followed immediately by a 1:00 PM funeral service officiated by Reverend Michael Ware at Canton Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 10655 East Cherokee Drive, Canton, GA 30115. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park.
