Salvatore E. Reina, 91, of Tampa, Florida, died at his home in Canton, Georgia under the care of hospice on 11/12/2023 surrounded by his family.
Salvatore (Sammie/Sam) was born and raised in Tampa, FL and graduated from Hillsborough High School where he was Captain of ROTC. He attended University of Florida and became a loyal Gator. After enlisting in the Navy, he met the love of his life and married. Sam prospered from his family’s olive business and branched out to create his own successful Food Brokerage Company in Tampa.
Sam and Phyllis raised two children in Tampa enjoying and supporting all the school events, church, scouts,
sports, ceremonies, and lifelong friends. Sam was very involved with his business and community and served in
numerous capacities such as past President of the Food Brokers Association, past President of Parkland Estates neighborhood, active in early stages of the Tampa Stadium, avid golfer and football enthusiast, just to name a few.
Sam is survived by his wife of 68 years, Phyllis J. Reina, son, Mark S. Reina (Cheryl) of Sarasota, FL., daughter, Tami A. Reina of Canton, GA., three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Any remembrances may be made in the form of contributions to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, St. Jude, or Samaritan’s Purse.
