Usitai Thurman

Usitai Toso Thurman , “Tai”, age 72, passed away on November 9, 2016 at St. Joseph’s-Emory Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

The viewing will be held on Sunday, November 13th, from 1:30-3:30 at the Canton Funeral Home, 10655 E. Cherokee Dr, Canton, GA 30115. There will be a graveside service immediately following at the adjoining Macedonia Memorial Park Cemetery.

Tai was born in Asau Savaii, Samoa on February 13, 1944. She married George Thurman on January 27, 1970 and they lived in State College, PA for 33 years before moving to Canton, GA to be close to their grandchildren.

Tai’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. Tai enjoyed playing bingo, watching Penn State football, and dancing Zumba. Tai’s beautiful smile, vibrant spirit, and kind heart touched all that knew her.

Tai is survived by her husband of 46 years, George, children Gardenia, Ray, and Neta and grandchildren, Miles, Mason, Theodore, and Santiago.
