William “Bill” Milton Baldwin passed away peacefully at his home in Marietta Wednesday morning, August 16, 2023, at the age of 83.
Bill was an only child born in Fletcher, North Carolina on October 19, 1939 to his parents Willyse Elouise Cline Baldwin and Joseph Franklin Baldwin. He married his wife Betty on September 3, 1968. Bill and Betty were happily married for 55 years and were blessed with 2 children, Kristie and Chip. He was a devoted husband and a loving father. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Woodstock where he was a faithful Sunday School member and dedicated Choir member. His love for God was easily seen in his devotion to his family.
Bill started with United Airlines in 1967 in Asheville, North Carolina. That is where he met Betty. They had Kristie in April of 1970 in Hendersonville, North Carolina. He was later transferred to Norfolk, Virginia (lived in Chesapeake) in 1970 where Chip was born in October of 1971. He was later transferred to Atlanta, Georgia (lived in Marietta) in 1982. He retired at the age of 62 in 2001.
Bill had many passions such as Nascar Racing, UNC Tarheels, Atlanta Braves Baseball, Green Bay Packers Football, gardening and had a love for gospel music.
Bill is survived by his wife, Betty, his daughter Kristie Baldwin Walker (Charlie) and his son William “Chip” Milton Baldwin II (Natalie), grandson Jarrett “Rett” Mackenzie Walker (Molly), grandson William “Will” Joseph Baldwin, granddaughter Karoline Grace Walker, great granddaughter Mackenzie “Mac” Kathryn Walker.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, September 17, 2023. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m.
