William Edward Ness passed away Thursday, March 21st.William Edward ‘Bill’ Ness was born April 14, 1947 to Lowell and Algia Ness
Bill attended Gillis Sweet Elementary School in Fairview Park, Ohio,Louie B Mayer Middle School, and Fairview High School
where he played varsity football and varsity basketball and it was heard said, ‘Bill was the best natural born athlete they’d ever seen.’
Bill attended Akron University, Cuyahoga Community College and graduated from Cleveland State University with a BA in Psychology and later graduated Atlanta Law School with LLM. (Masters of Law).
Later he founded NESS INC in 1979 and excelled as a manufacturers representative
of architectural building products. He served as President of ICRI (International Concrete Restoration Institute), served as President CSI (Construction Specifiers Institute) and President of RCI ( Roof Consultants Institute).
In 1985 he married Elaine Wenthold. A son, Graham, was born to them In 1986.
Bill was very active with the Knights of Columbus at Holy Family Catholic Church In Marietta, where he and Elaine were members for 27 years. There he captained “Catholics Returning Home” at Holy Family. Also, was a leading member of the
Contemplative Outreach Program. Bill was a Stephen Ministry Leader at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta
and at St. Peter Chanel in Roswell. Also, was a case worker for Saint Vincent de Paul Society.
Bill was also Active with the Knights of Columbus at St. Peter Chanel in Roswell.
Bill enjoyed his yearly white water rafting excursions to various fast water rivers, Including Snake, Grand Canyon, Tatchinchini, Rogue, Sauk & Green River. He enjoyed Family and friends. Hanging out with ‘The Posse’. Other hobbies included sailing & golf.
Bill is survived by his wife, Elaine. Brothers Rick (Karen), Tom (Dana), Sisters-in-law Kathleen (Conrad) Kriener, Jean Wenthold, Marilyn (Steve) Courtney. and many nieces and nephews. And his favorite Lab, Henry.
Bill is preceded in death by his son, Graham, his parents Lowell Ness and Algia Barnett Ness, brothers-in-law Donald Wenthold and Darrell Wenthold.
Services will be held at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell 10:30 AM, Friday April 12th.
