Ymenia Dorcemont

Today, we gather to honor and remember the life of a remarkable woman, Ymenia Ducelus Dorcemont, my mother. She was a pillar of strength and resilience, an industrious soul whose spirit will forever inspire us. Born and raised in the village of Rousseau, in Cavaillon, Cayes, Haiti, my mother embodied the essence of hard work and determination. She faced challenges with grace and courage, always emerging stronger and more determined.

Her hands were never idle; they were always busy nurturing her family.At 91 years old, she lived a long and fulfilling life, filled with love and devotion. She continued to live in Rousseau, where she built a home filled with love and memories. She was married to a wonderful man named Joseph, and together they built a legacy of love and family. 

She is survived by her five children, who each carry a piece of her wisdom and love in their hearts. Her legacy continues through her fourteen grandchildren, who will forever cherish the memories of her stories, her laughter, and the warmth of her embrace. Beyond her immediate family, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom were touched by her kindness and generosity. She is also survived by sons-in­ law and a daughter-in-law, who were embraced as part of the family.

Additionally, she is survived by her beloved sister, who remains a testament to their enduring family bond. My mother had a deep love for people and always sought to help them whenever she could. Her compassion and generosity knew no bounds, and she made a difference in the lives of many. Her love for her family knew no bounds either. It moved her to constantly visit her children and grandchildren in the states, bridging the miles with her unwavering affection and presence. She taught us the importance of hard work, the value of family, and the power of love. She showed us that no obstacle is too great, and no burden too heavy when faced with determination and faith. As we say our goodbyes today, let us remember the lessons she taught us, the love she gave us, and the indomitable spirit she embodied. Mother may no longer be with us in body, but her legacy will live on forever in our hearts and in the generations to come .Rest in peace, Mother. We love you and we will miss you dearly.
